Calculates the minimum number of clicks from the homepage to reach each crawlable page.
Click depth measures how many clicks a user (or search engine crawler) needs to go from your homepage to reach any given page. A page at depth 1 is linked directly from the homepage; depth 2 means you click one page from the homepage, then click again to reach it.
Search engines assign higher crawl priority and link equity to pages that are closer to the homepage. Pages buried deep in your site structure (4+ clicks away) are crawled less frequently and may be perceived as less important.
Important pages buried at depth 4+ may be crawled less frequently, indexed more slowly, and rank lower than they should. The ideal structure has key pages within 3 clicks of the homepage.
